Many years ago, on the outskirts of a large city, I had the opportunity to take care of a young woman's smile. She was young and beautiful. But despite this, she simply didn't smile. She came from a family with financial limitations and for several years "suffered" from the absence of some teeth in the upper premolar region, as well as cavities and a broken central incisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once I was chosen as her dentist, she never hid her smile from me. I always considered her friendly, and in my first years as a dentist, I didn't suspect the impact it had on her social circle. Until then, I didn't know the extent of the impact until I heard it from other people. After she finished treatment, people in the community who considered her closed off, reserved, or stuck-up were surprised by the transformation. She was one of the most smiling people and now had many friends because of her friendliness. I heard this from other clients who knew her before and after treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The solution for her was simple resin restorations, endodontic treatment, and a removable prosthesis. These procedures were relatively inexpensive, yet they made a big difference to that family and to the young woman's quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process of creating and applying porcelain veneers generally involves the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Initial Consultation: The patient talks with the dentist to discuss their needs and expectations regarding the treatment outcome. The dentist must first assess the patient's oral health, the positioning of teeth in the jaws, the presence or absence of diastemas, rotated teeth, reduced interdental spaces, bruxism habits, and then determine if porcelain veneers are the appropriate option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Case planning is based on photographs of the teeth, which will be analyzed in the laboratory using image software. Through this study, the smile is redesigned and projected onto the client's dental images. A simulation of the final result is presented to the client. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
